Seth Rogen made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday and discussed, among other things, his recent colonoscopy. He joked that the experience could have been awkward because of his celebrity status.
Seth Rogen explained his oddly specific concern about his first colonoscopy
Rogen appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about his movie The Invite. During the conversation, he and guest host Ike Barinholtz discussed a range of topics. Barinholtz brought up the fact that the 44-year-old actor had recently undergone a colonoscopy, joking that Rogen had made another on-camera appearance. Rogen confirmed it with a laugh and praised Barinholtz for using a “good segue.” He added, “That was a 10 out of 10.”
When asked whether he was comfortable with strangers examining such an intimate part of his body, Rogen responded, “I think as someone who’s recognizable or famous, it’s a little… I don’t know if it’s worse or weirder. They know who you are. And I think, as a celebrity, nine times out of 10, you get way better service, I would say, than someone who isn’t famous.”
Rogen then pointed out the downside. “But one time out of 10 I’ll have a waiter who’s really nervous and just completely messes up my whole order. And that’s what you are afraid of at the colonoscopy.” He jokingly added that “you don’t want a guy who’s too big of a fan.”
Barinholtz then played up the idea of an overly enthusiastic fan, rubbing his hands together and declaring, “I’ve been waiting for this my whole life.” He also reflected on his time portraying Nurse Morgan Tookers on The Mindy Project and how the role influenced his interactions with healthcare professionals, joking about what they might think while performing his own colonoscopy.
Barinholtz is one of the guest hosts filling in for Kimmel during the latter’s two-month break.
