However, the claimants lost the case after Mr. Justice Nicklin dismissed all claims, ruling that they had failed to provide sufficient and convincing evidence that journalists had used unlawful methods.

The statement reportedly left Buckingham Palace stunned, with courtiers already wary of Harry and Meghan’s motives for rebuilding ties with the royal family.

“There were jaws on the floor with a statement attacking not just a High Court judge but the entire judicial system that acts in the King’s name. There is profound upset constitutionally about that attack,” a source told The Times.

In his 2023 memoir “Spare,” Harry made damaging allegations against Camilla, claiming she leaked stories about members of the royal family to the press to improve her public image.

“I have complex feelings about gaining a step-parent who I thought had recently sacrificed me on her personal PR altar,” he wrote. Harry also claimed that he and Prince William had “begged” Charles not to marry Camilla, fearing she would become their “wicked stepmother.”

Royal author Catherine Mayer believes Camilla will ultimately play a crucial role in any effort by Harry to reconcile with his father.

“She is a non-negotiable part of Charles’ life,” Mayer told PEOPLE. “There is no reconciliation with him without her.”

Meanwhile, Harry’s tone toward his stepmother appears to have softened in recent years. Asked about their relationship, he said, “We haven’t spoken for a long time. I love every member of my family, despite the differences. So, when I see her, we’re perfectly pleasant with each other. She’s my stepmother.”

“I don’t look at her as an evil stepmother. I see someone who married into this institution, and [has] done everything she can to improve her own reputation and her own image, for her own sake,” he added.
