It’s a pretty big week for new music this week. Some real titans are dropping their latest albums and singles, and it’s the kind of summer drops that seem prepped to set you up for the remainder of the warmer months. 

The BAWSE is back! Rick Ross returns with his new album, as he also celebrates 20 years since his debut. We get the latest instrumental collection from Zaytoven, plus some new heat from Lil Baby and none other than Larry June. and don’t sleep on Raq Baby’s new album. 

R&B artists aren’t messing around this week, as we get hot new albums from Syd and Steve Lacy; plus some really interesting singles from Tinashe and Cynthia Erivo, who drops two collaborations with… well, you’ll see.

Afrobeats superstar Davido joins up with Afropop talent NO11, and we get a new project from the legend Buju Banton. And the veterans are doing their thing: we get new tracks from the rejuvenated B2K and the always-consistent legends out of NYC, Onyx.

NEW SONGS

LIL BABY – “DEAD FRESH”

The Atlanta rapper drops this Pharrell-produced single, which premiered during Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer 2027 Men’s Show in Paris. In case you forgot, Pharrell serves as Louis Vuitton’s men’s creative director.

B2K – “MILEAGE”

The reunion continues with this new single. After packing arenas across the country on their sold-out Boys 4 Life Tour, the famed boy band’s resurgence has led to their first official new release in more than two decades. 

DAVIDO & NO11 – “GIMME DAT TING”

The pair’s chemistry is noteworthy on this infectious collab. It’s been confirmed as the fourth track from his highly anticipated upcoming 13-track album, Oriade.

THE MUSALINI & 9TH WONDER – “SALT BOX”

The first single in the lead-up to their forthcoming collaborative album. The highly anticipated third installment of their revered series will be released on triple vinyl.

MIKE D – “CRYPTO”

Decades into his career, Michael DIamond sounds inspired. The NYC legend inveighs between mesmerizing slabs of relentless rhythm on his latest. It is the fourth song to be released in advance of his upcoming solo debut,  Thank You.

PAUL WALL, TERMANOLOGY, LE$ & JACK FREEMAN – “CATCH ME IF YOU CAN”

The production is just perfection. The trio keep it breezy over a groovy slice of late night cruising music. It’s a lyrical showcase that never feels indulgent. 

KHAL!L – “COMMUNICATION”

Inspired by neosoul greats like Anthony Hamilton, Maxwell, Musiq Soulchild, Jill Scott and D’Angelo, the latest track from the singer-songwriter “reminded me of the precious yet overwhelming sense of comfort and safety it would bring me, it almost felt parental.”

JAYMIN – “PROUD”

The Seattle native has built a reputation on his smooth, soulful voice; and a catalog that is catching ears and turning heads amongst R&B fans. He once again proves few are better at melding elements of gospel, hip-hop and vintage soul.

NEMS & RON BROWZ – “GLOCK TALK”

Hard hitting, gritty street rap. The Brooklyn representer has an effortless chemistry with the superproducer from Uptown. Who else could drop something as unflinchingly NYC as this? 

TINASHE – “CRASH OUT”

Her smoldering new single is the first glimpse of her just-announced forthcoming new album Popstar. Produced by DJ Mustard and recorded with London-based producer Couros, and co-written with Bobby Raps and Zikai.

YAZMIN LACEY – “SUMMER HAZE”

Produced by hitmaker Frazer T Smith, the new single from the U.K.-based neo-soul and jazz singer-songwriter is the kind of breezy tune that’s perfectly suited for the season. 

TIANA MAJOR9 – “MORE”

She’s one of R&B’s most interesting and eclectic artists, and on her latest, she showcases that distinctive voice and ever-present since of melody to great effect. One of the best songs of the summer. 

AKTHESAVIOR – “RED DOT”

There’s a palpable sense of dread lurking throughout the track,  as the artist manages to sound both paranoid and perceptive. Another song that showcases how uniquely gifted AK remains. 

LAURA MVULA & CYNTHIA ERIVO – “IT WOULD BE”

A gorgeously emotive track that highlights how powerful synergy can be between two gifted artists. A song originally featured in the film Drift from 2023, the track is written and sang by Erivo in collaboration with R&B/soul/jazz artist, Mvula.

ONYX – “BODY YA”

A high-energy summer anthem —produced by Fredro Starr. The track features a soulful, uptempo beat that flips classic Earth, Wind & Fire—while Fredro and Sticky Fingaz deliver their trademark raw intensity in a feel-good format.

MESHELL NDEGEOCELLO & CYNTHIA ERIVO – “I KNEW YOU WERE WAITING (FOR ME)”

The two superstars offer a reimagined take on the 1980s mega hit by Aretha Franklin and George Michael. The pair manages to breathe new life into what was always a great song.

ROY WOODS – “BRUNCH”

A gorgeous track that should be playing everywhere. The Canadian singer-songwriter has always brought an idiosyncratic approach to his unique brand of alternative R&B.

MOLLY SANTANA & CHY CARTIER – “WALK”

The duo drop this aggro trap anthem brimming with confidence. Over the undeniably hard-hitting beats, the ladies get off some brazen female swagger and fearless energy.

G-EAZY & LOGIC – “FLASHING BEFORE YOUR EYES”

Classic hip-hop vibes. The latest team-up from the frequent collaborators is an unapologetically throwback sound that embraces the best in 1990s boom bap. 

DAVE EAST & HARRY FRAUD – “MINDING MY BUSINESS” 

Speaking of frequent collaborators, the super producer and the lyrical miracle always deliver the goods. The duo drops this new single off of their forthcoming album titled Price Of Pain which drops in late July.  

KURUPT, DJ BATTLECAT & SNOOP DOGG – “ME N THE BOYZ” 

The trio delivers a record that feels true to their roots while reminding listeners why their influence continues to resonate today. It’s a celebration of friendship, legacy, and the unmistakable sound that has become synonymous with the West Coast. 

POINT 5VE – “FINISH LINE”

The West Coast vet is stepping into a new era with a smoother, more laidback R&B sound that reflects his growth and evolution. Trading gritty street narratives for soulful melodies and effortless confidence.

PEEZY FEAT. BABYFXCE E – “I CAN’T TELL”

The Detroit heavyweight teams with Flint breakout star Babyfxce E for a collaboration that pairs a veteran architect with one of the game’s fastest-rising voices. Two generations of Michigan rap on a playful, unapologetic summer anthem. 

HOMEBOY SANDMAN & JACK SPLASH  FEAT. CEELO GREEN –  “WORLD ON FIRE”

Sandman—the underground rap luminary — and Jack Splash — himself a multi-Grammy Award-winning producer—are set to release their collaborative album, Resonance Frequency, at the end of July. 

LÉA THE LEOX – “LEMONS”

A windows down, golden hour R&B jam driven by soulful vocals, a hypnotic bass line, and an irresistible bounce, the track finds the singer-songwriter making the best of what she’s been given — even if it means pretending to enjoy the lemonade life has handed her. 

TOBE NWIGWE FEAT. FLAVOUR AND C.S. ARMSTRONG – “PERFECTION” 

The Grammy-nominated artist, filmmaker, and cultural visionary unveils the second chapter of The Bridge. The track features Nigerian music icon Flavour, soul singer C.S. Armstrong, and producer Tierce “Kizzo.” 

KOLO – “LONELY DREAMS”

Created in partnership with Tracklib, “Lonely Dreams” reimagines Peruvian psychedelic rock as a poignant reflection on ambition, perseverance, and purpose.

RICK ROSS – ‘SET IN STONE’

The Miami rap superstar drops his highly anticipated twelfth album–and his first in three years. The 19-track opus boasts a litany of guests; including T.I., Jeezy, French Montana, Gucci Mane, Kodak Black, Don Toliver, BigXthaPlug, Rich The Kid, YFN Lucci, Leon Thomas, Yung Miami and more. 

STEVE LACY – ‘OH YEAH?’

On his third album, the acclaimed singer-songwriter is practically bursting with ideas. He finally frees himself from his previous affectations in The Internet and stretches the boundaries of his already immersive sound. 

SYD – ‘BEARD’

Speaking of the Internet, the band’s erstwhile vocalist drops her third project. Four years after Broken Hearts Club, she co-produces this set of songs about love, hard liquor, working your way through it all. 

ROME STREETZ – ‘SOCK IT 2 MY POCKET’  

With appearances from Styles P, Lloyd Banks, Westside Gunn, and IDK, the project also boasts production by The Alchemist, 9th Wonder, Conductor Williams, Havoc, Pete Rock, V Don and more. 

FOX BD – ‘FINESSIN DISTRIBUTION DEALS’

Assembling artists from Memphis to Atlanta for a wide-ranging cross-regional sound, BD continues to emerge as an underrated player in the scene; jumping between Memphis street anthems and modern-day trap sounds.

AMBRÉ – ‘PEYOTE’ 

The singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist returns with her long-awaited and uber-anticipated sophomore album — an accomplished set of songs that prove she’s not at all interested in creatively standing still. 

FANTASTIC NEGRITO – ‘ALIVE!’

A project that perfectly captures Xavier Amin Dphrepaulezz’s stage show. Featuring a band that includes Bryan Simmons on keys, Clark Sims on lead guitar, Lily Stern on bass and James Small on drums.

MAMA TERRA – ‘INNER SPACE’

Marco Cafolla’s long, successful career making jazz and related music across multiple Glasgow bands reaches its apogee on Mama Terra’s second album.

BUJU BANTON – ‘TOO TOO BAD’

The Grammy-winning reggae icon drops his thirteenth full-length studio album. It stands out as his sixth offering for VP Records following a newly minted deal which brought him home to the label after 23 years. 

LARRY JUNE – ‘WHO COPPIN’’

The California native drops his new solo album. With features from a wide array of names, including DJ.Fresh, Jhené Aiko, Jay Versace, Musiq Soulchild, B-Legit and Swizz Beatz.

ZAYTOVEN – ‘ZAYTOVEN’S TRAIL RIDE’

He already has one of contemporary music’s most enviable resumes. But the superproducer’s musicality is on full display with this collection of polished instrumentals. 

BUBBA SPARXXX – ‘IN CASE YOU MISSED IT’

The Georgia rap veteran is back, and he’s pulling off the hat track of looking back while moving forward—on a project that celebrates his roots while pushing him to not rest on his laurels.

RAQ BABY – ‘STILL SPILLIN’’

The latest instalment of Raq baby’s “spill” series, following his 2024 and 2025 albums Spill Season and More Spill. This album continues a breakout year for the Atlanta-to-Chicago rhymer. 

ICEWEAR VEZZO – ‘RICH OFF PINTS 4’

One of Detroit’s most consistent artists. He taps some high-profile guests, including Payroll Giovanni, GT, 42 Dugg, Montana 700, Peezy, Sada Baby, and Pistol Po.

DAVE BLUNTS – ‘I’LL BELIEVE IT WHEN I SEE IT’

The 4th studio LP from the rapper, singer/songwriter and Internet personality. The 12-track project shows he’s sharpened his highly emotional, raw melodic rap style.

TORY LANEZ – ‘MADE YOU THINK I WAS GONE…BUT’

Lanez’s tenth studio album, his second major release of 2026, and his fourth release overall from prison. It’s separated into two discs, one being rap-oriented and the other being R&B-oriented.

LEON BRIDGES – ‘HAPPINESS ANYTIME: PART 1’ (EP)

You gotta love a unique rollout. The acclaimed artist is dropping the first of three 4-song EPs. Bridges will release his new album, Happiness Anytime on September 25. 

KAMAL. – ‘HOW THE F*** DOES EVERYBODY ELSE MANAGE?’

The young songwriter’s official debut has been years in the making. Executive produced by Jonny Coffer, the debut indicates the artist is more than ready for his moment. 

MIKE POSNER – ‘CRAZY RAINBOW’ (EP)

A six-track EP that blends funk with folk, highlighting Posner’s impressive songwriting while showcasing his continued evolution as an artist. Featuring reflective lyrics, uplifting themes, and collaborations with Vance Gilbert, Stanaj, Yung Bae and more.

ADRIAN YOUNGE – ‘AFRO-DISCO MAKOSSA’ (EP)

The multitalented producer drops this dancefloor-focused EP that combines Afrobeat, funk, and 1970s American disco. Conceptualized by Younge’s previous collaborations with legends like Tony Allen and Ebo Taylo.
