LANCASTER, Ohio (WSYX) — The Lancaster Festival is back with nine days of music, art and community events.
The 42nd annual Lancaster Festival runs July 17-25, featuring entertainment, family-friendly activities and a Grand Finale Concert headlined by country trio, Lady A on July 25.
The festival’s mission is to bring “world-class artistic experiences to Fairfield County through orchestral performances, Broadway favorites, tribute concerts, chamber music, folk and Americana artists, children’s programming and community events,” as stated in a release. Organizers say most events are free or offered at low cost, ensuring accessibility for all.
“Every year, the Lancaster Festival brings top-caliber entertainment and art to our community thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, donors and volunteers,” executive director Deb Connell said.
“There is truly something for every person in the community to enjoy. The arts enrich our lives and invigorate our community in a way nothing else can. We are so grateful to be back this year.”
The Covered Bridge Music Series will be making its first appearance at the festival since 2019 after a pandemic hiatus. That concert is set for July 22 at 8 p.m. on the Wendel Concert Stage at Ohio University Lancaster, featuring country singer-songwriter Allie Colleen.
Beyond the headline concerts, the festival includes dozens of free activities, including the Noon at the Square concert series, Children’s Corner hands-on activities, downtown ArtWalk, Festival Fair Day, free community concerts, art exhibitions and family-friendly entertainment throughout the week.
The 2025 festival was burdened with cancellations due to stormy weather and this year the Canadian wildfire smoke slightly affected the events’ Friday kickoff. Despite the foggy skies organizers are looking forward to a great week as things clear up.
