Chelsea Wolfe‘s ninth studio album “The Dark” has been slated for an August 21st release through Loma Vista. The details for that new record from the folk doom artist were shared today, July 21st. The announcement follows her recent pair of singles, which included this album’s title track and the song “Death Is Not The End“.
Magdalena Wosinska directed the below music video for the just shared third single from this new opus, “Cold“, you can give that a watch below. Guest performers involved with this album include Robin Finck of Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers Nine Inch Nails, along with Matt Chamberlain (A Perfect Circle, Ghost), and members of Kælan Mikla.
Wolfe elaborated on her vision for this full-length, stating:
“The ghosts are haunted by the living just as much as the living are haunted by the ghosts. On this album, I’m not pointing the finger at anyone. I’m taking responsibility. Someone who may have been a toxic presence in my life.. maybe I was bad for them, too. It’s ok to move away from these types of connections that only seem to cause confusion for both parties, after a long stretch of trying to work it out.”
