He’ll be facing off against Royals right-hander Luinder Avila, who enters today’s game with a 5.08 ERA, 4.57 FIP, with 50 strikeouts to 34 walks in 56.2 innings pitched. His last start was in the Royals’ 5-3 loss to the Baltimore Orioles on July 10th, in which he allowed three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and three walks in five innings.
