The events are being held every Thursday evening until September 10, from 5pm to 8pm.
While one had to be cancelled due to a severe weather warning, the first one certainly went down a storm.
During a meeting of the council on Wednesday (July 15), leader Michael Jones said things “kicked off in style” with a set from The Cureheads, a tribute group playing the music of Crawley boys The Cure, who launched 50 years ago.
Cllr Jones said the council had consulted with bars and restaurants in the High Street before launching the event, and it was their request that it be held on Thursdays.
He added: “Bars and restaurants are pleased with the additional footfall and business.”
Promising a “fantastic line-up” over the coming weeks, he said: “It’s really heart-warming to see it all taking place in Crawley High Street and very satisfying to see Crawley Borough Council being able to provide something that not only gives a lot of pleasure to a lot of people but helps support our town centre businesses and the local night-time economy.”
