It looks like Satine will be getting a new but familiar “Elephant Medley” duet partner.
From Aug. 18-29, Aaron Tveit will reprise his role as Christian in “Moulin Rouge!” as the long-running show winds down its seven-year run at the Al Hirschfeld Theater.
If you’d like to see the Tony-winning Tveit in the role he originated live onstage, tickets are available for all 15 of his scheduled Great White Way performances.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one Tveit show was $125 including fees on SeatGeek (for the Wednesday, Aug. 19 and 26 matinees).

Rounding out cast alongside Tveit will be Kelsie Watts (Satine), Eric Anderson (Harold Zidler), André Ward (Toulouse-Lautrec), David Harris (The Duke of Monroth) and Ricky Rojas (Santiago).
The beloved jukebox musical itself — based on the seminal 2001 Baz Luhrmann film — will close on Sunday, Aug. 30 with current Christian, Christian Douglas, taking the reins back from Tveit for one final performance.
“Director Alex Timbers’ smartest move is not trying to replicate Luhrmann’s quick-cut sense of humor, which would crash and burn onstage,” The Post’s Johnny Oleksinski wrote in a review when the show opened on Broadway in July 2019. “Instead, he focuses on grandiose emotions, sensuality and the storybook sensation of first love, for which [original Christian, Aaron] Tveit’s puppy-dog innocence is ideal.”
In 2021, Tveit and “Moulin Rouge!” netted 14 Tony nominations and won ten including Best Musical, Best Director of a Musical (Alex Timbers), Best Actor in a Musical (Aaron Tveit), Best Featured Actor in a Musical (Danny Burstein) and Best Choreography (Sonya Tayeh).
Prior to this brief return, Tveit last appeared on Broadway in “Chess” from October 2025 through June 2026. He co-starred with Lea Michele and Nicholas Christopher.

Who is in “Moulin Rouge” on Broadway?

Kelsie Watts (Satine) doesn’t just act. She’s also a singer who’s worked with Backstreet Boys and NSYNC members over the past few years. On the “Moulin Rouge!” site, it reads her plans for year “include writing and releasing new music.”
Eric Anderson (Harold Zidler) has a real history with “Moulin Rouge!” His bio states that “he was Harold Zidler in the very first reading of Moulin Rouge! nearly ten years ago, and is honored to return to help close it out.” Film roles include “The Greatest Showman” and “Waitress: Live on Broadway.”
