Arca has premiered new music from her forthcoming album, ‘XXXXX’, in a livestream that aired via YouTube and Twitch last night (Thursday, 23rd July).
Directed by Daniel Sannwald, with lighting design by Matiere Noire, the two-hour Diva.Experimental broadcast was staged live from Barcelona and saw Arca perform the entirety of the new LP inside an abandoned factory ahead of its release next Friday (31st July).
Two tracks from the stream – ‘Fxck’ and closer ‘Sueño’ – have now been archived online, and can be watched below.
During ‘Fxck’, Arca performed covered in red, blood-like paint while spray-painting a canvas on the floor, while ‘Sueño’ featured a concrete backdrop, red lighting and drone-powered spotlights.
Arca announced the 16-track ‘XXXXX’ earlier this week. It’s her first full-length record since ‘Kick IIIII’ was released in 2021 as the final instalment of her ‘KICK’ album series.
Earlier this year, she shared a remix of the Robyn single, ‘Sexistential’.
Arca was also among the artists featured in Madonna’s Confessions II – The Film. The 14-minute short, an accompaniment to her new album of the same name, additionally starred Shygirl, Honey Dijon and Cole Palmer, among others. She was also credited as a co-producer on the album.
