Chiodos is back. More than a decade after releasing new music, the influential post-hardcore band has unveiled “TAPDAT,” marking the beginning of a new era and its first release under a newly signed deal with SharpTone Records.
The track arrives alongside an official music video and serves as the band’s first new material in over 10 years. While longtime fans have waited patiently for Chiodos’ return, “TAPDAT” makes it clear the band isn’t interested in revisiting the past. Instead, it pushes forward with the experimental edge and emotional intensity that helped define its sound.
“There is still so much work to be done to build out the world of Chiodos. ‘TAPDAT’ is the first step in that direction.”
Frontman Craig Owens says returning to the band’s original creative spirit is what inspired him to write with Chiodos again. He also hinted that the song is only the beginning, promising there is much more to come as the group continues the story he has been waiting more than a decade to tell.
The release follows renewed momentum for Chiodos, including anniversary tour dates and a return to the festival stage. With fresh music finally arriving, the next chapter for one of post-hardcore’s defining bands is officially underway.
