NEW ORLEANS – Championship Saturday at the inaugural MoonPay X Games New Orleans delivered a packed day of world-class action sports inside the Caesars Superdome, with skateboarding, BMX and Moto X athletes producing several memorable performances as the race for the first X Games League Summer Championship tightened heading into Sunday’s finale.
The day featured eight medal events beginning with the Women’s Skateboard Vert Best Trick and continuing through the Women’s Skateboard Street final before fans turned their attention to a concert at the Smoothie King Center.
One of the afternoon’s biggest highlights came in the Dave Mirra BMX Park Best Trick competition, where Australian star Ryan Williams added another X Games gold medal to his collection by landing “The Oliver Twist,” an alley-oop frontflip 540 flair dedicated to his late friend Oliver Tree. The victory marked Williams’ 17th career X Games medal and his 14th gold.
Moto X continued to showcase the progression of freestyle riding with the Best Trick competition, while the Men’s BMX Dirt final brought some of the biggest aerial runs of the weekend as riders battled for valuable championship points.
Skateboarding also took center stage throughout the afternoon and evening. The Men’s Skateboard Street final featured one of the deepest fields of the weekend before the Men’s Skateboard Park competition closed the day’s action inside the Superdome. In the Women’s Skateboard Street final, Australia’s Chloe Covell claimed the gold medal with a best run of 87.00, finishing ahead of Japan’s Momiji Nishiya and Yumeka Oda.
Saturday followed an exciting opening day on Friday that included Opelousas, Louisiana native Wyatt Fontenot earning an emotional gold medal in Moto X Best Whip in front of the hometown crowd, helping generate momentum for the championship weekend.

The inaugural New Orleans event serves as the championship stop of the first MoonPay X Games League Summer season, with clubs and individual athletes accumulating points throughout the weekend to determine the league champions.
