Amman, July 27 (Petra) — His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein
bin Abdullah II, the Regent, visited on Monday the Civil Status and
Passports Department, and emphasized the importance of completing
digital automation of services.
The Crown Prince called for expanding public awareness campaigns to
ensure all citizens are informed about the services provided through
the Sanad application, particularly those offered by the Civil Status
and Passports Department, and to educate citizens on how to use the
services and access them online.
His Royal Highness was briefed by Director General of the Civil
Status and Passports Department Ghaith Al Tayeb on the department’s
services and projects in the areas of digital transformation and
e-connectivity, as well as efforts being made to expand the provision
of e-services, thereby helping to streamline procedures for citizens
and improve their experience.
Al Tayeb explained that the department offers 25 online services,
accounting for 81 per cent of its transactions, noting that the
proportion of transactions completed online rose from 3.8 per cent in
2024 to 24.6 per cent in 2026.
During his tour of the Civil Status and Passports Department, the
Crown Prince also emphasized the need to expedite the processing of
applications submitted in person, as well as to ensure inclusive
access to support the diverse needs of citizens.
His Royal Highness was accompanied by Interior Minister Mazen
Farraya, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Sami
Smeirat, and Director of the Office of the Crown Prince Zaid Baqain.
