Taylor Sheridan’s “Lioness” premieres its third season this weekend.
The Paramount+ series stars Zoe Saldaña as CIA operative Joe, who balances her “personal and professional lives as the tip of the spear in the agency’s war on terror.” The Fort Worth-filmed show also stars Nicole Kidman, Michael Kelly and Morgan Freeman.
“Lioness” is coming back to the small screen after nearly two years away.

The “Lioness” season 3 premiere releases on Sunday, Aug. 2.
From there, the show will release in weekly installments through mid-September:

What is ‘Lioness’ season 3 about?

“Hidden networks, foreign operatives, and personal betrayals collide. Joe (Saldaña) walks the line between duty and home as unseen forces circle her world. Patterns appear where they shouldn’t, names vanish, and paths rearrange. Guided by Kaitlyn (Kidman) and Westfield (Kelly), Joe confronts enemies operating in the shadows, leaving her to reckon with a war that now reaches into every part of her life.”
Who is in ‘Lioness’ season 3?
Much of the “Lioness” cast from the first two seasons are back for season 3.
In addition to the previously mentioned cast, “Lioness” stars Laysla De Oliveira, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Genesis Rodriguez, Austin Hébert, Jonah Wharton, Thad Luckinbill and Hannah Love Lanier.
The big cast addition this time around is Ian Bohen, who played Ryan on “Yellowstone.”
Bohen is playing Grady, who is described as “a by-the-book Delta Force operator and primary K9 handler, skilled in battlefield tactics.”
Where did ‘Lioness’ film in Fort Worth?
“Lioness” filmed anywhere and everywhere in Cowtown.
Scenes were shot at SGS Studios in the AllianceTexas area in far north Fort Worth. The 450,000-square-foot film and television production campus opened last year and has already welcomed three other Sheridan-produced shows in “Landman,” “The Madison” and “Dutton Ranch.”
“Lioness” closed roads in downtown for shooting at Wicked Butcher, the Sinclair Hotel, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse, the Hilton Fort Worth and at Fort Worth’s old city hall.
Production also closed streets around TCU in the University West and Berkeley Place neighborhoods, and around the Cultural District.
“Lioness” season 3 premieres Aug. 2 on Paramount+.
