Prince George just had a milestone birthday (13!), so naturally Kate Middleton and Prince William went all out for his party. The royal couple reportedly let Prince George invite a bunch of friends to their home, Forest Lodge, and now guests are spilling.
Royal expert and Daily Beast journalist Tom Sykes spoke to several partygoers for his Substack (via The Royal Observer). One mother of an attendee said, “I went to the house for a kid’s birthday party, and [Prince William and Princess Kate] were the ones organizing the games. Any of us lot would get an entertainer in and sit in the house drinking rosé.”
Royal expert Emily Andrews also spoke to a friend of William and Kate’s, who said they’re all about keeping Prince George as grounded as possible, and that fellow school parents were “gently amused” by how hands-on they are.
Per Andrews’ reporting, “The Prince and Princess have put in boundaries to give their children an incredibly normal upbringing under the circumstances. How they decide when [the children] show up at events is carefully balanced. The Prince has always wanted to give them the normal upbringing that he didn’t have.”
As for how the royals publicly celebrated Prince George’s milestone birthday, they went with an updated portrait and simple birthday message on Instagram!
