Prince Harry has been a celebrity of sorts since he was born, but there’s no doubt that his level and type of celebrity isn’t very much like the one Meghan Markle was used to after she gained fame on Suits. And one of the things people have always wondered about the couple, particularly since the move to California, is how Prince Harry has dealt with the level of celebrity he now holds.
Earlier in July, the Duke of Sussex attended the TIME100 Sports Gala held in New York City, and sources spoke to RadarOnline about Harry’s demeanor during the gala and what it says about him and his relationship with Markle, noting that everything in his body language made it clear that he “hates” these kinds of gatherings. His wife did not accompany him to the event.
“There was a noticeable contrast between the scale of the occasion and Harry’s demeanor – he appeared more restrained than many would expect at a celebrity-heavy gathering like this. He is clearly committed to the Invictus Games, but environments centered on celebrity culture do not always seem to play to his strengths, particularly when he is appearing alone,” a source said.
“Without Meghan alongside him, there was a sense he was operating outside his comfort zone. It highlighted how different these public-facing moments can feel for him compared to more purpose-driven engagements.
The insider added, “His focus remains on causes like Invictus, and when the setting shifts toward spectacle, it can create a visible tension in how he presents himself.”
Ironically, this comes not long after Hollywood insider Rob Shuter once again reported that Harry and Meghan are basically living separate lives.
“They’re living very separate lives now,” one insider told Naughty But Nice. “It’s gone beyond work schedules. They have different priorities, different routines, and they’re spending much less time together than people realize.”
Shuter’s sources even pointed to the fact that the two have been making separate appearances. “When Harry is on his own, he seems like a different person,” another source said. “He’s more relaxed, more spontaneous, and much more like the prince people remember. Friends have noticed the change,” the sources said, which actually contradicts the new reporting about Harry at the TIME100 gala.
Harry and Meghan recently visited the UK together, alongside their kids Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. During the trip, the family met with King Charles and Queen Camilla privately.
“Nobody knows what will happen next,” another insider added. “But people around them aren’t talking about whether they’re spending time apart anymore. They’re wondering whether this marriage can survive it.”
