Khloé Kardashian is remembering her beloved grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, with an emotional tribute following her death at the age of 91. The Good American co-founder shared a touching Instagram post on Sunday, July 19, reflecting on the extraordinary impact MJ had on generations of the Kardashian-Jenner family. “My sweet MJ 🦋. Thank you for showing us that life is meant to be celebrated, that laughter is healing, and that love is the greatest legacy we can leave behind,” Khloé wrote. “You lived so fully, so gracefully and so beautifully.”

In her heartfelt message, Khloé shared how grateful she is that her own children were able to build a relationship with their great-grandmother. “One of my greatest blessings will always be that my children knew their great-grandmother,” she continued. “That they experienced your hugs, your stories, your joy and the incredible light you carried so effortlessly.”

Khloé, who shares daughter True and son Tatum with ex Tristan Thompson, described MJ’s influence as something that will continue to shape the family for years to come. “You taught us that love never leaves,” she wrote. “It lives on in the family you built, the traditions we’ll continue, the stories we’ll tell, and every time we choose joy. Your love will forever be woven into who we are.”

She added, “Thank you for every lesson, every laugh, every embrace and every piece of your heart you gave so freely. You were truly one of one.”

A Special Reunion in Heaven

Khloé also found comfort in imagining her grandmother reunited with loved ones who passed before her. “I know Heaven welcomed you with open arms, surrounded by everyone who has been waiting to see you again,” she wrote.

The reality star also referenced her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr., who died in 2003, saying she believes MJ fulfilled a promise to tell him how deeply he is still loved and missed.

“I know you’re happy having your coke, tuna sandwich and graham crackers with Papa Harry while Karen dances around you,” Khloé added, referring to her late grandfather Harry Shannon and aunt Karen Houghton, who died in 2024. “Until we meet again, my sweet MJ! I love you.”
