‘Celebrating Memories’, led by Lawrence Lindsay, offers a relaxed and interactive way for people to share stories, songs and laughter inspired by years gone by.
The sessions combine music, images, quizzes and video clips to spark memories, with participants encouraged to join in at their own pace.
Lawrence recently delivered a popular run of Football Memories sessions, funded by Dementia Friendly Largs and District, where attendees revisited favourite matches, players, songs and sporting moments.
Building on that success, he is now expanding the idea beyond football, with new sessions covering a range of light-hearted topics including holidays, St Andrews, Glasgow and Liverpool.
Each theme is designed to prompt conversation and shared recollections — from family trips and seaside holidays to nights out, shopping, music and television.
Lawrence’s approach is informal and upbeat, with plenty of humour and opportunities for conversation and even the occasional singalong.
While the sessions are particularly suited to people living with dementia or memory loss, they are open to everyone, including carers, family members and friends.
The aim is to provide a welcoming space where people can connect through shared experiences and celebrate the memories that have shaped their lives.
The first session will take place at the Cameron Centre in Largs on Friday, July 31, from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Refreshments will be provided and entry is free.
