You better believe we’re misty-eyed over the Ted Lasso and Roy Kent reunion.
Apple TV dropped the highly anticipated trailer for Ted Lasso‘s fourth season on Tuesday, opening with a look at Jason Sudeikis‘ triumphant return as the titular character.
“Oi, welcome back,” Brett Goldstein‘s character, Roy Kent, tells him in that gruff accent fans missed so much. The minute-long clip also offers a look at stars Hannah Waddingham and Juno Temple‘s return as Rebecca Welton and Keeley Jones, respectively. (Brendan Hunt and Jeremy Swift will also reprise their roles as Coach Willis Beard and Leslie Higgins.)
The trailer is aptly set to Mumford & Sons‘ song “Run Together.” (The London-based band’s frontman, Marcus Mumford, famously sings the Ted Lasso theme song.)
“Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women’s football team,” the official synopsis for season 4 reads. “Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would.”
While none of the players are introduced in Tuesday’s trailer, viewers will get to know them soon enough.
“Life is so much more than football,” one of the players notes in the video. Ted agrees, noting, “Not as catchy, but true.”

Sudeikis originated the titular role when the show premiered in August 2020. The third season, which premiered in March 2023, was presumed to be its last. Fans speculated that Ted leaving his job at AFC Richmond and returning to Kansas to reunite with his son was a sign of the end.
However, Apple TV announced in March 2025 that Ted Lasso would be back — and it would be focused on the women’s football team.
“Our writers are literally Jedi Knights. They’re just incredible,” Waddingham told Entertainment Weekly in May 2025, teasing what fans can expect. “And we’ve got like a full room of real feminist men. So we’ve got all the fabulous women there, and the men that are in there, and I think you really see it in the scripts.”
Aside from the returning cast, Faye Marsay, Abbie Hern, Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Aisling Sharkey, and newcomer Rex Hayes are set to join the cast.

“I know I needed this,” Sudeikis told The Hollywood Reporter about returning for season 4. “I needed it as much as other people do.”
Ted Lasso season 4 will premiere globally on Apple TV on Aug. 5. Watch the full trailer in the video above.
