One of the world’s top Irish dance shows, “A Taste of Ireland—The Irish Music & Dance Sensation,” comes to Springfield Symphony Hall on Saturday, Sept. 27.
The production features World Champion Irish dancers, stars from Lord of the Dance and Riverdance such as headliners Gavin Shevlin (two-time World Champion, formerly of Lord of the Dance and Riverdance), Callum O’Neill (World Champion, formerly of Riverdance), Cian Walsh (World Championship runner-up), as well as fiddle player Megan McGinley (Patrick O’Keeffe Young Musician of the Year, featured in the film “TRAD” and formerly of Lord of the Dance), who are set to perform, among other world-class Irish dancers and performers.

Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band
Six-time Emmy Award winner, Screen Actors Guild Award winner, and Tony Award nominee Hank Azaria will bring his acclaimed Bruce Springsteen Tribute to The Big E. Hank Azaria and the EZ Street Band will perform on Sept. 22 and 23.
Net proceeds benefit The Four Through Nine Foundation, founded by Azaria and committed to social justice, education and recovery causes.
Azaria is well known for being a principal voice actor on “The Simpsons,” voicing over 100 characters including the iconic Moe Szyslak, Police Chief Wiggum and ComicBook Guy. He spent months creating an impression of Bruce’s distinctive speaking cadence and singing “voice” to conceive the tribute show.

This week at The Drake
The Drake live performance and music venue in Amherst will continue its summer lineup with an open mic night featuring hot Tank Hood on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and a performance by Romperayo on Aug. 21. Tank Hood plays mostly acoustic originals & American roots music. Romperayo, in the U.S. for the first time, will offer what organizers describe as an “irreverent take on tropical Colombian music.”

‘The War in Mind’
American International College theater arts student Khamari Hamblin’s senior project, a one-man play titled “The War in Mind,” will debut at AIC’s Griswold Theatre on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 22 and 23. Written, performed, and produced entirely by him, the production also marks the final performance by a student in the college’s theater arts program.
The production is open to the public, ages 18 and older.
