A total of 63 rock music events announced through the Rock’n Malta scheme

Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government Owen Bonnici announced that for the year 2026, the Rock’n Malta fund will be supporting a total of 63 rock music events, which are expected to benefit around 1,800 local artists. This is with a collective investment of €1 million.

Administered by Festivals Malta, this fund offers assistance to local organisers, promoters, artists and bands to invest in their events and concerts with the aim of continuing to raise the level of rock music-related activities in Malta.

Minister Bonnici said, “An investment of one million euros in Maltese rock music is a clear sign of how much this Government believes in local talent. 63 concerts and around 1,800 artists mean opportunities, creative work and more cultural life in our country, even in this genre that is so dear to the hearts of the Maltese and Gozitans.”

The Chairman of Festivals Malta, Aaron Zahra, said that like every year, this fund is receiving a large number of applications from various local organisations and artists, which shows its importance, and the need to continue to invest in and support this same fund. “Rock’n Malta is a fund that supports a wide range of artists, promoters, and organisers in producing high-quality events. Every year, the number of people approaching Festivals Malta to benefit from this fund continues to increase, and for this reason we will keep investing in Rock’n Malta so that we continue to see more quality rock concerts in our country, featuring both local and international talent.”

The Chief Executive Officer of Festivals Malta, Frans Agius, said: “Although Rock’n Malta is not an event directly organised by Festivals Malta, this fund places the agency in a position where it can provide both financial and consultative support to a number of rock music events held throughout the year. We are eager to follow these events closely and to offer our support to promoters, organisers, and local artists, and we encourage everyone interested in rock music not to miss these concerts and activities.”

The events benefiting from the Rock’n Malta fund this year will be held between January and December 2026.
