Taylor Frankie Paul has been chosen as the leading lady for Season 22 of ABC’s “The Bachelorette.”
The news was revealed on an episode of Alex Cooper’s hit podcast “Call Her Daddy” on Wednesday.
When asked how she was feeling, Paul answered “surreal,” adding, “it has not hit me in this moment. I’m just thinking about it, and it’s not real. And it’s not going to be until I think the limo is pulling up, you know? And meeting the people.”
Paul had previously filmed a video joking that she should be on “The Bachelorette,” which seemingly helped her get her foot in the door.
“People started tagging ‘The Bachelorette,’ like, ‘You should, you should, you should,’” she recalled to Cooper. “I don’t know if that got their attention or someone was like, ‘Yeah, maybe.’ It was a joke to me, like unattainable.”
Paul, who was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and raised Mormon, first rose to fame on TikTok. In 2020, she created #MomTok, a group of Utah-based Mormon moms who began creating lifestyle and dancing videos together.
The internet became fascinated with the #MomTok vcommunity, especially after Paul revealed that she and her now ex-husband, Tate Paul, were swinging within their friend group.
Hulu pulled the curtain back even further on Paul and her friend’s scandalous lives on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” which came out in Sept. 2024 and has since been nominated for an Emmy. The show featured Paul’s 2023 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence after an altercation between her and her boyfriend at the time, Dakota Mortensen. Paul later pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and was sentenced to probation.
Paul is a mom of three. She shares two children with her ex-husband Tate Paul, a son with Mortensen, who she began dating after her 2022 divorce. When discussing her decision to go through with “The Bachelorette,” Paul admitted she had to think long and hard about the logistics. “How do I make this work? I’m a co-parent. I have two baby daddies, not one, so I’m dealing with two different people, my children, my home base is here. Can I travel that long? Can I be gone that long?” she told Cooper.
“The Bachelorette” Season 22 is set to start filming this fall and will premiere in 2026. Meanwhile, Season 3 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” drops on Hulu on Nov. 13.
