Abhishek Bachchan’s explosive reply on divorce rumours with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, says ‘if you are a celebrity…’

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan has finally addressed the rumours of divorce with his wife Aishwarya Rai and called the news “falsehood, manufactured rubbish”. “If you are a celebrity, people are going to want to conjure up everything. And any rubbish that they have written is completely false—not based on any fact whatsoever. Malicious. And incorrect. But now, how much I am going to…they have been doing this before we got married, also. First, they were deciding when we were getting married…and once we got married, they were deciding when we were getting divorced…these are all rubbish. She knows my truth. I know her truth. We go back to a happy and healthy family, which is most important. That’s all that matters. If there was any truth to it, it would affect me. But it doesn’t. With all respect, the media tends to get it wrong a lot of times,” he said during a recent interview.

In a recent interaction with PeepingMoon, Abhishek Bachchan praised Aishwarya for how she has shaped their daughter Aaradhya’s understanding of the film industry. “Aishwarya has instilled a great respect in Aaradhya towards the film industry and what we do. She has taught her that we are what we are because of what the films and audience have given this to us,” he shared.

Abhishek and Aishwarya have faced trolling and constant speculation about their relationship. He explained how their daughter, Aaradhya Bachchan, has been raised to rise above online chatter and maintain her sense of grounding.

‘Aaradhya a very sure teenager’

Abhishek Bachchan revealed that Aaradhya is growing into a confident teenager with strong individuality. “She has an opinion. She is a very sure teenager. She has distinct opinions which we discuss in private, but she has a wonderful way of conveying everything,” he remarked.

He highlighted that Aaradhya remains largely disconnected from social media and gossip portals despite the environment she is growing in. She remains detached from online speculations. Abhishek revealed that she doesn’t own a mobile phone and focuses instead on her studies.

No phone for Aaradhya

“She is 14 years old and she doesn’t have a phone. If her friends want to get in touch with her, they have to call her mother’s phone and that’s something we had decided a long time ago,” he said. Although she has access to the internet for schoolwork, Abhishek revealed that Aaradhya prefers academics over celebrity gossip. “She has access to the internet, but she is more interested in doing her homework and researching. She loves school so she is into that,” he explained.When asked whether she gets affected by rumours while browsing online, he said, “I don’t think she does that. I don’t think that is what interests her, and she won’t believe anything that she reads. Her mother has taught her not to believe everything that she reads. Like my parents were with me, we are completely honest with the family. So, we are never in a position where anyone needs to question anybody.”

Aishwarya and Abhishek tied the knot in 2007 and welcomed Aaradhya in 2011. The couple have recently found themselves at the centre of renewed rumours about trouble in their marriage. Instead, their steady public appearances together have continued to project unity, even as online chatter persists.
