Adam Sandler officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Kelce and Sandler costarred in 2025’s Happy Gilmore 2.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end previously said he was a lifelong fan of Sandler’s movies.
Wait, what?
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married — and the ceremony at Madison Square Garden was officiated by none other than funny man Adam Sandler.
A representative for Swift told PEOPLE in a statement, “The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler.”
Granted, he and the happy couple are acquainted. Kelce appeared alongside Sandler in the comedy sequel Happy Gilmore 2 last year. And the Uncut Gems actor had high praise for both Swift and Kelce in an interview at the time with Entertainment Tonight.
“Taylor is incredible,” Sandler said. “Taylor is so damn nice to my family and has always been. My kids have met Taylor a bunch of times over the years, and she’s ridiculously nice to them and warm.”

Sandler also noted his affection for Kelce in the same interview. “Travis is such a gentle, nice guy, and funny as hell,” the comedian said. “He’s like the guys I grew up with. When I was with Travis, it reminded me of my buddies in high school and just being able to laugh and say the things you want to say.”
Kelce said he’s been a lifelong fan of Sandler’s movies in a July 2025 interview with Bussin’ With the Boys, and explained how he came to secure a cameo in the golf comedy sequel.
“I threw it out there that I would kill to be in a Sandler movie or anything like that, and I had a Happy Gilmore hat on on [my podcast] New Heights one time,” he recalled. “And they were like, ‘Oh, man, there’s rumors that Happy Gilmore 2 might be coming out, are you gonna be in it?’ I’m just like, ‘I’d quit everything right now to be in a f‑‑‑in’ Adam Sandler movie, or be in Happy Gilmore 2.'”
Kelce, who played a waiter in the film, said that meeting Sandler exceeded his wildest dreams. “It was insane,” he gushed. “I met him and he was the f‑‑‑in’ best. Even further than what you could have ever expected. And he was so helpful in making me feel comfortable in the scene and everything.”
When asked if he considered requesting a Swift cameo in the star-studded Happy Gilmore 2, Sandler told Extra, “We didn’t want to bother Taylor. We just let Taylor entertain the world as she does. I listened to ‘All Too Well’ three times in a row today with my kid. She’s done a lot for our planet, so we love her.”

Swift later praised the movie when it released on Netflix last summer. “Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie. An absolute must watch,” she wrote in an Instagram Stories post. “13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible.”
