A fresh development has emerged in the ongoing reshaping of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s domestic life after his removal from royal duties and residence. According to reporting first cited by The Mirror and Reality Tea, aides at Royal Lodge have been instructed to ensure that no personal trace of the former duke or his staff remains at the property, a directive that has reportedly led to unwanted items being burned on the estate grounds.

The reports describe a sweeping clearance operation at Royal Lodge following Andrew’s departure earlier this year, with personal possessions, paperwork, and staff effects being removed as part of the transition process ordered by King Charles III.

Sources quoted by The Mirror claim that royal aides have spent recent days emptying remaining rooms at Royal Lodge, including former staff quarters. The aim, according to the source, was explicit: nothing linked to Andrew or his household should be left behind.

One individual, believed to have previously worked as a valet in Andrew’s household, was reportedly seen burning discarded items, including pieces of furniture, on the estate grounds. Palace sources cited in the report clarified that the items being destroyed belonged not to the Crown Estate, but to Andrew’s former staff.

The instruction conveyed to those involved in the clearance was described as firm: all belongings were to be removed by the weekend, and the residence returned to a state free of any association with its former occupant.

Andrew’s fall from public royal life traces back to his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, which prompted intense scrutiny after a 2019 television interview and culminated in a civil lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre. The case was settled out of court in 2022 without an admission of liability, but the controversy led to Andrew relinquishing his military affiliations and royal patronages, and stepping back permanently from public duties.

After vacating the Royal Lodge, Andrew relocated in early February to Wood Farm, a smaller property on the Sandringham Estate traditionally used by members of the royal family seeking privacy. This move was understood to be temporary.His longer-term residence is expected to be Marsh Farm, a modest five-room property on the same estate that has been undergoing renovation. Although those works are reportedly complete, Andrew has not yet made the final move from Wood Farm to Marsh Farm.

The reported instructions to erase visible reminders of Andrew’s time at Royal Lodge signal more than a routine change of address. Royal Lodge had been his home for more than two decades under a long-term lease arrangement, and its clearance appears intended to mark a definitive institutional separation.
