Air India has placed its latest Boeing 787-9 aircraft into service with a newly installed inflight entertainment system supplied by Thales, marking a notable update to the onboard experience for travelers. The aircraft entered service on 1 February 2026 and is equipped with Thales’ AVANT Up inflight entertainment (IFE) platform, a system designed to integrate advanced hardware, software, and content delivery within the cabin environment.

The deployment of this system reflects a continued focus on improving the onboard environment for long-haul and leisure-oriented travelers, with features aimed at entertainment access, device connectivity, and passenger interaction throughout the journey.
