Alison Hammond responds to Celebrity Traitors rumoursITV
After being on many fans’ wishlists for the second season of The Celebrity Traitors, Alison Hammond has responded to the speculation – and it’s not good news for anyone hoping to see her in the turret. The Great British Bake Off host was speaking to season one Traitor Jonathan Ross when she was asked outright about the rumours.
As it turns out, she has a very good reason for not being able to make it to the Highlands for filming later this year.
“I can’t do it, because I’m doing Bake Off,” she said on The Jonathan Ross Show, due to air tomorrow (21 March). “I think it’s the same time when I’m doing Bake Off, so that’s a definite no.”

She added: “I’m so sorry, I would love to do that. I wouldn’t want to be a Traitor though, I’d want to be a Faithful. I don’t want no stress.”
The presenter also spoke about the departure of Prue Leith from Bake Off, which was announced earlier this year.
“It’s kind of bittersweet. We love Prue,” she said. “She’s incredible – she’s given nine years of her time, but we also want her to go and enjoy life as well. I think she’s 86 now.
“She’s got a wonderful husband and they want to do more things. When you’re doing Bake Off, your summer’s gone, literally. It’s very bitter that she’s going, but we’re very excited that we’ve got Nigella Lawson.

“I can’t wait – I’m actually meeting her next week. We’re going to have a coffee and a little chat. She’s really excited.”
Traitors host Claudia Winkleman, meanwhile, has teased that the line-up that has been secured for the upcoming Celebrity run is “extraordinary“.
Speaking on Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, she said: “I love the fact that the team are so extraordinary that they involve me, so I’m incredibly lucky.
“And they go, ‘What do you think?’ And they do such a good job, and I can’t say anything, but the cast is extraordinary!”
The Jonathan Ross Show airs on Saturday at 10pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
