It was love at first sight for Milo Ventimiglia and Jarah Mariano.
“When I saw my wife, I was always just like, ‘Oh no, she’s my wife,’ ” the This Is Us alum told Entertainment Tonight in February 2024. “Right away, I just kind of knew.”
The couple, who quietly married in 2023, welcomed their first child, Ke’ala Coral, in January 2025, weeks after they lost their Malibu home in the Los Angeles wildfires.
“You start thinking about all the memories in different parts of the house and whatnot,” Ventimiglia said in a CBS Evening News broadcast. “And then you see your neighbors’ houses and everything, kind of around, and your heart just breaks. We got good friends, and we got good people we’re working with, and we’ll make do. We’ll make do. Wife and baby and dog most important.”
Over a year later, Mariano gave birth to their second child, Rock-Anthony Makoa Ventimiglia. The model shared the news on Instagram in July 2026, writing that she “can’t wait for all of the adventures ahead with our family of 5!”
Ventimiglia previously told Entertainment Tonight that his relationship with Mariano strengthened through parenthood. “You just got a partner that you’re gonna be there with, you’re gonna work with, you’re gonna find the joy [with]. And when pain hits you guys, you got to get through it together,” he said.

Mariano was born in Kauai, Hawaii, but later relocated with her family to California.
In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month in May 2021, Mariano opened up about her heritage on her Facebook page, noting that her mother “is of Korean descent, but born & raised in Hawai’i” while her father is from Hawaii but was adopted by “the Mariano” family — a last name she serendipitously shared with Ventimiglia’s iconic Gilmore Girls character, Jess Mariano.
After growing up in California, she moved to New York City as a teenager and stayed there for 15 years. She added in her post, “So again, ask me where I’m from or what I am .. maybe next time I’ll just say a human on Planet Earth! All aside, I am proud of my heritage & all of its unique contributions.”
She’s a model and actress
After graduating from Pace University with a bachelor’s degree in speech communications, Mariano began working as a model for brands, like Abercrombie & Fitch, MAC, Armani Exchange and Victoria’s Secret, according to IMDb.
She made her Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue debut in 2008. According to Mariano’s Instagram account, she’s managed by Next Management Los Angeles and Elite Model Management NYC.
She also has a few acting credits to her name. Mariano’ has appeared in a handful of music videos, including Jay-Z’s “Show Me What You Got,” and has had small roles in shows and films such as Chuck and The Audition.
In 2021, the model and actress launched a fragrance brand called H I N A + K ū, which also supported nonprofit education efforts in Hawaii.
She and Ventimiglia secretly married in 2023
The couple was first linked in 2022 by the Instagram account Deuxmoi. The following fall, Ventimiglia was seen wearing a wedding band on his ring finger, in photos obtained by TMZ, sparking rumors that they had gotten married.
Us Weekly was the first to report that they had wed during a private wedding ceremony among family and close friends.
In February 2024, Ventimiglia shared an update on married life in an interview with Extra, saying that “things are good.”
“We’ve had relationships that have come and have gone and then you get to a point where you kind of meet your match and meet someone that inspires you in a way different than anybody else,” he said. “I’m grateful for her and I’m happy to have arrived in this moment, so married life is nice.”
A few months later, Mariano posted about their wedding on Instagram.
“Last year I married my best friend,” she wrote alongside photos from the big day. “There aren’t enough words that exist to describe all the special qualities that make him who he is. AlI [I] can say is that I am grateful for the life that we have together and the happiness that we have created.”

Ventimiglia and Mariano’s first child, Ke’ala Coral, was born on Jan. 23, 2025. They became parents only a few weeks after they lost two homes in the L.A. wildfires.
“My family & I are together, happy, healthy & safe, which is truly all that matters,” the new mom wrote on Instagram. “This will be an extended process of rebuilding and grieving for many, but we are feeling optimistic & inspired to welcome all of the exciting newness of our fresh start!”
In July 2026, Mariano shared that their second child, a little boy, had made his debut.
“These last couple of weeks have been chaos, but in the best possible way,” she wrote in an Instagram post announcing his birth. “Welcome back home Rock-Anthony Makoa Ventimiglia. Can’t wait for all of the adventures ahead with our family of 5!”
