Tonight, the Songwriters Hall of Fame hosts its 55th annual gala, formally welcoming a new class of inductees into its prestigious club—which includes the likes of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Bruce Springsteen, Carole King, Dolly Parton, and Elton John.
This year, musicians Taylor Swift, Alanis Morissette, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss, Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, Kenny Loggins, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart accept their rightful places, honored for their contributions to the music industry. And to celebrate, they walked the red carpet at New York City’s Marriott Marquis hotel.
In addition to the 2026 class of inductees, John Fogerty will be presented with the Johnny Mercer Award, the highest honor of the evening and one reserved for a songwriter who has already been inducted into the hall of fame. Grammy-nominated artist Raye is also being recognized, as she receives the Hal David Starlight Award, which was created to focus on young songwriters shaping the next generation.
The honorees were joined by the evening’s presenters and performers: Dallas Austin, Tamar Braxton, Kylie Cantrall, Brandi Carlile, Billy Corgan, Madison Cunningham, Taylor Dayne, Gavin DeGraw, Steve Miller, Jeremy Renner, Nile Rodgers, Johnny Rzeznik, Sheléa, SistaStrings, and Sombr.
Established in 1969, the Songwriters Hall of Fame was founded to preserve the legacy of songwriters, as well as to highlight their work to the broader music industry and the public, and to encourage the next cohort of talent through professional education, workshops, showcases, and scholarships. There is also a permanent Songwriters Hall of Fame gallery, held at the Grammy Museum.
Ahead, see all the stars at the 2026 Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala.
