This Thanksgiving weekend, Hallmark Channel premiered A Christmas at the Grand Ole Opry, one of their tentpole films in their Countdown to Christmas lineup. The film, which stars veteran Hallmark favorites Nikki DeLoach and Kristoffer Polaha, not only celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Opry radio show, but also features cameos from some country music legends as well as legends in the making. Riders in the Sky
Riders in the Sky is a Western music and comedy troupe that has been performing since 1977. They performed on several Toy Story movies as well as Monsters Inc. Music from the Grammy-winning group appeals to children of all ages.

Megan Maroney

Jamey Johnson
The Alabama-born singer-songwriter has written songs for Willie Nelson, MerleHaggard, George Strait, Trace Adkins and Jesse James Decker to name a few. Some of his hit songs include “In Color,” “That Lonesome Song,” and “Between Jennings and Jones”.

Brad Paisley is married to frequent Hallmark actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who currently stars in Nashville 9-1-1. Paisley wrote this year’s Countdown to Christmas theme song, “Counting Down the Days”. He has had over 50 singles on Billboard’s Country singles charts and 19 Number 1 songs, including “Perfect Storm,” “Then,” and “When I Get Where I’m Going.”

Anderson is a country music singer-songwriter known as “Whisperin’ Bill”. A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, he is known for songs like “Mama Sang a Song,” “I Get a Fever,” and “Still”.

Even before there was Queen B singing honky tonk there was Mickey Guyton and other artists like Rissi Palmer and country trio Chapel Hart. Guyton’s hits include “Black Like Me, ” “House on Fire,” and “Make it Me.” She paves the way for up and coming artists like Madeline Edwards and Tanner Adell.

Tillis comes from country music royalty as the eldest daughter of country music legend, Mel Tillis.
