Independent music publication Alt Citizen is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a weeklong takeover of venues across New York City.

From Sept. 9 to 14, the Music Discovery Is Everything campaign will feature six shows with more than 20 live acts. Tickets are currently available for purchase.

The first night will take place Sept. 9 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Night Club 101. The lineup includes Lulu Van Trapp, Promiseland and Suo. The “finale” night, on Sept. 14 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Market Hotel in Brooklyn, will feature Computerwife, Push Ups, Epoxy and a DJ set from Quiet Luke.

The lineups for all six nights have yet to be released, but the Sept. 10 show will take place at Ridgewood’s TV Eye from 7 p.m. to midnight, Sept. 11 will be at Night Club 101 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Sept. 12 is at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn from 11 p.m. until late and the Sept. 13 show will be hosted at Jean’s in Manhattan starting at 7 p.m.

The campaign is rooted in Alt Citizen’s mission of promoting music discovery through tangible media, curation and live shows, rather than algorithms. Founder and editor-in-chief Nasa Hadizadeh described the shows as her “way of giving back to the music community that I cherish and love and want to protect.”

“We need to stop calling music communities scenes. If you go to the rock show you should rock out. Don’t take up space trying to network, demanding for guestlist and access. Go for discovery, go because those songs moved you,” Hadizadeh said in a statement to Variety. “Musicians are not meant to be worshiped, they’re meant to be heard. Songs are meant to be shared and cherished. Fans make it all possible. It is not a scene, it’s an environment for people to come together and heal each other. Music discovery is everything.”
