‘American Idol’ adds extra online audition date for Alabama singers

Alabama singers who want a shot at a national spotlight on “American Idol” next year have an additional day to try out online.

Idol Across America has added Sept. 29 as a virtual audition date for the state.

“Alabama hopefuls will once again get the opportunity to audition in front of producers for a chance to become the next ‘American Idol,'” said Rachel Krokenberger, an account executive with the show’s public relations group.

Singers should register ahead of the audition at americanidol.com/auditions. Applicants — who must be at least 15 years old by Feb. 15, 2026 — have to create a profile and select an audition date.

Artists who make it through the auditions will have a chance to impress celebrity judges Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood when season 24 begins airing in spring 2026.

Auditions for the upcoming season have been taking place throughout September.

Additionally, open calls available to Alabama singers include:

• Nationwide open calls on Sept. 24 and Oct. 6.

• A last call for the South on Oct.1.
