Brooklyn-based indie-pop artist Anaïs & The Hoops has released a nostalgic new music video for “Growing Pains,” the title track and emotional anchor of her debut EP. Directed by Grace Pomilla, the visual was filmed at Purgatory in Bushwick and interweaves recent performance footage with intimate childhood home videos to illustrate the song’s central theme of evolving friendships. Anaïs, the project of San Diego-raised singer-songwriter Anaïs Lund, describes the track as a love letter to the people who feel like home, emphasizing that the bonds of childhood friendship shape our identities just as deeply as romantic love. The video serves as a dreamy, melancholy reflection on chosen family, featuring her full live band and a cast of close personal friends to ground the song’s introspective lyrics in a sense of community.

Since the release of the ‘Growing Pains’ EP in September 2025, Anaïs & The Hoops has gained significant momentum for a sound that blends 1960s jazz-inflected vocals with a modern, retro-inspired pop aesthetic. The six-track collection, produced by Ben Coleman, spent three years in development and features collaborations with her live band, including the French-language standout “Passe le temps” and the grittier, guitar-driven “Cool.” Her transition from professional jazz club singer to a distinctive indie voice has earned her critical support from NPR Music and WFUV, as well as a reputation as a magnetic live performer in the New York City scene. By exploring themes of identity and the tension of adulthood through a sincere, high-fidelity lens, Anaïs & The Hoops continues to establish herself as one of the most promising and authentic acts in the current indie landscape.
