Jeffrey Epstein reportedly plotted to hire an ex-SAS hitman as he wanted to “silence” Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson, it has been revealed. Historian Andrew Lownie, who wrote his book Entitled about Sarah and Andrew, has revealed that the late sex offender became paranoid that his crimes would be exposed whilst awaiting his trail.
Mr Lownie said: “He spoke to a hitman who was a former member of the British SAS and said he wanted the Yorks dead. He wanted to remove them. I’ve been told this by two reliable sources, one in Paris and a former FBI agent in Florida, and I can believe it’s true.”
Explaining further, he added: “Epstein said all sorts of things, and you can’t always believe what he said.”
Speaking on the Daily Beast podcast, he added: “I don’t know how far he got with the plans. But I think he was very nervous before he died.
“It’s extraordinary and like a scene from The Day of the Jackal — but nothing about this saga is normal.”
Speaking about recent claims that Sarah had emailed Epstein, he shared that the 66-year-old was “terrified” – which explained why she kept in touch with him.
He added: “She was worried about her safety and that of her daughters. Epstein mixed with some pretty nasty people, so the fear was real.”
Speaking of Epstein, he revealed that the late sex offender, who died by suicide in 2019, became paranoid and later believed that the Firm would “kill him”.
Concluding, he added: “Jeffrey became paranoid the Palace would kill him.
“If Jeffrey hadn’t died, Andrew and Fergie would have been murdered. They knew too much.”
