Angelina Jolie all set to leave the US and start a new chapter in Europe
Angelina Jolie has been thinking to leave the United States of America for quite some time.
The Maleficent actress finds it suffocating living in LA because of the ongoing political unrest especially after the return of Donald Trump to White House.
“I don’t, at this time, recognise my country,” said Angelina at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain back in September 2025, which she attended to promote her new movie, Couture.
Nevertheless, Tomb Raider actress noted that anything “that divides or limits personal freedoms, is quite dangerous”.
Given the ICE operation and Donald administration, the Oscar-winning actress is committed to leave the US, with some insiders saying that she’s “quite excited about it”.
Another source revealed that she never wanted to live in LA full-time.
An insider told PEOPLE that Angelina stayed in LA mainly because of her children and the custody arrangement with ex-husband Brad Pitt.
“She didn’t have a choice because of the custody arrangement with Brad,” they reamrked.
The source pointed out at the time, “She’s eyeing several locations abroad. She’ll be very happy when she’s able to leave Los Angeles.”
Meanwhile, the Wanted actress did mention that she was “only staying in LA for the sake of children” as they were minors in a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
“I am here because I have to be here from a divorce, but as soon as they’re 18, I’ll be able to leave. When you have a big family, you want them to have privacy, peace, safety,” she admitted.
