Annie Knight’s mom, Karyn Knight, is weighing in on the impacts of her daughter’s OnlyFans career on her own life.
In an Instagram video, Annie asked whether it’s “hard for [her] socially because of my job,” to which Karyn replied, “I have had issues I’ve spoken to you about.”
“A few mothers who met up with me for lunch and I thought they were being really nice and after we kind of sat for a bit and had a bit of a chat,” Karyn said in the clip shared on Sunday, January 11. “What was the question? It was, ‘So is it like a pyramid scheme? Does she go and get school girls and get them to join?’ It was such an insult.”
Karyn recalled being confused by the mothers’ line of questioning about Annie’s career.
“I was so angry,” Karyn said. “I just said, ‘What?’ Like, ‘No, no. Of course not.’ That’s just madness.”
Karyn has been candid about supporting Annie’s career now, but previously admitted to having some reservations about her daughter’s OnlyFans endeavors.
“You didn’t tell me. I turned on my phone and there was a story online. A news story. And I was like, ‘That’s my daughter,’” Karyn recalled during an episode of Annie Knight – Travels with My Mother in 2025. “I was so confused and I didn’t know what OnlyFans was. … Then I read the story a bit more and was like, ‘Whoa what the hell? What the hell is going on?’”
Annie recalled Karyn, who was “angry,” not reaching out to her after finding out about her career path. Instead, she got a message from her stepdad.
“You told my stepdad and then he messaged me and said, ‘Mom saw this.’ And then I said, ‘Can I talk to her?’ And then you didn’t want to talk to me for two weeks,” Annie said. “After that, literally from that day, you’ve been so supportive. I think it took you a while to fully … like, you didn’t want to hear about it at the start. Whereas now I’m like, ‘Mom I have a collab today.’ And you’re like, ‘Oh, was it good? Did you have fun?’”
While Annie noted that she receives some social media comments suggesting that her mom might not approve of her choices with her career, she explained that that is not true.
“A lot of people comment on my Instagram posts, and they’re like, ‘What would your mother say about this?’ Or, you know, ‘Your mother must be proud,’” Annie said. “It’s like, well, actually, yeah, she’s pretty proud.”
Karyn noted that she would initially “fight back” in the comments section, but explained that it “didn’t take long” for her to realize that was “not what you do.” Despite there being negatives and positives of her career, Annie explained that there are “way more” positive aspects.
“The most rewarding thing for me is to be able to give back to you because you did so much for me growing up. You raised me to be who I am today. I’m so grateful for you,” Annie said, to which Karyn replied, “I just have to say how really proud I am of you. So proud.”
