The British Royal Family made the announcement on Friday morning that another relative has passed away.
According to Fox News, Katharine, the Duchess of Kent, passed away at the age of 92. She was married to Prince Edward, the late Elizabeth II’s cousin for 64 years.

“It is with deep sorrow that Buckingham Palace announces the death of Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Kent,” a statement by the family read. “Her Royal Highness passed away peacefully last night at Kensington Palace, surrounded by her family.”
“The King and Queen and all Members of The Royal Family join The Duke of Kent, his children and grandchildren in mourning their loss and remembering fondly The Duchess’ life-long devotion to all the organizations with which she was associated…” the statement continued.
Back in 1994, Katharine became a member of the Roman Catholic Church and was “a volunteer for the Passage Night Shelter for the homeless,” Fox reported.
As the BBC further noted, Katharine was the first person in the Royal Family to move into Catholicism since 1701. Katharine was known for her heart to care for children and for music, which led her to take up a job as a music teacher, away from the life of nobility. Katharine was also known for presenting the Wimbledon Ladies’ Singles trophies for years.
