Ariana Grande’s Boyfriend Ethan Slater Spotted Out With Ex-Wife Lilly Jay in New Jersey (Exclusive)

Ethan Slater was spotted spending time with his ex-wife Lilly Jay and a child believed to be their son during an outing in Jersey City, New Jersey, on September 5, Star can exclusively report.

The 33-year-old actor, who plays Boq in Wicked alongside Ariana Grande, arrived at the Newport Mall around 3 p.m. “I made eye contact with Ethan while walking out of the parking garage,” an eyewitness told Star.

Dressed casually in a hat, Slater appeared upbeat as he pushed a stroller. “He looked really happy, just pushing the stroller like any other parent. Just a few steps ahead was a woman who looked exactly like his ex, Jay, helping a little kid ride in one of those toy wagons,” the eyewitness said.

At one point, a fan passing by gasped and shouted, “I love you!” “Ethan laughed and flashed this huge smile. You could tell he was loving it,” the eyewitness added.

“There weren’t many people around, but he definitely appreciated being recognized. Lilly, on the other hand, didn’t even look up. She was focused on the child.”

Slater and Jay, who wed in 2018, reportedly separated in 2023. In July of that year, he began dating Grande, 32, who had split from Dalton Gamez after nearly two years of marriage.

Online records viewed by Star show that Jay lives in downtown Jersey City, a neighborhood known for its family-friendly vibe. Locals describe it as “a smaller version of New York City” and sometimes call it the “sixth borough.”

“It makes sense for her,” the eyewitness said about Jay’s choice to raise her child there. “It’s suburban enough for a kid but still close enough to Broadway for Ethan.”

The eyewitness added that Slater is no stranger to the area. “He’s popped into a few shops here and there. One of my friends saw him earlier this year at The Hive, a local coffee shop, getting a drip coffee.”
