Aspen 2026 Shortsfest final days, April 10-11
Aspen’s 2026 Shortsfest, recognized as one of North America’s premier short-film festivals and the only Academy Award-qualifying festival dedicated solely to shorts, wraps this week.
The “In Conversation with Abe Bengio” panel begins at 2 p.m. April 10 at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre, 406 E. Hopkins Ave. At 4 p.m., the 35th Edition Shortsfest hosts Program 7 at the Wheeler Opera House, followed at 8 p.m. with 35th Edition Shortsfest Program 8, also at 320 E. Hyman Ave.
“Shortsfest Panel: Pathways and Pitfalls” starts at noon April 11 at the Aspen Film Isis Theatre. At 2 p.m., 35th Edition Shortsfest Program 9 screens, followed at 5 p.m. with the 35th Edition Shortsfest Program 10, both at the Wheeler Opera House.

Goldfish returns at Belly Up Aspen, April 10
The popular band Goldfish will return at 9 p.m. April 10 at Belly Up Aspen. This South African duo — Dominic Peters and David Poole — have made many appearances in Aspen, highlighting their strong fan base. The duo transforms electronic music with a blend of beats, live instruments, African rhythms and sax melodies. Known for hits like “Born a Miracle,” “Moonwalk Season” and “Body Language,” Goldfish is also launching their record label, 33 Degrees. Local DJ Natti opens. Après Party Series, April 11

A free “Après Party” featuring music and cocktails will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Aspen Art Museum rooftop with music by GOLDEN, Set Break and Fraser Jones. The Roaring Fork Drawing Club will host a free drawing session from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 14 at the Red Brick Center for the Arts. Shakey Graves, April 16

A solo performance by Shakey Graves will take the stage at 8 p.m. April 16 at Belly Up Aspen. The Texas-born musician blends blues, folk and rock. His early performances included a simple set-up of a kick drum and tambourine, and he won the Emerging Artist Award at the Americana Music Honors & Awards in 2015. He has released five studio albums, including his debut album, “Roll the Bones” (2011), “And the War Came” (2014) and “Movie of the Week” (2023). His best-known song “Tomorrow” (2016) boasts high streaming numbers. Born Alejandro Rose-Garcia, he was formerly known as an actor who played the recurring character “Talbert” on the television series “Friday Night Lights,” and for his role in “Spy Kids 3-D.” Jobi Riccio opens.
