Hidalgo Tequileria Summer Reopening will host a DJ spinning, an easygoing early-season vibe and a popular tequila list. The event runs from 9 p.m. until midnight at 550 S. Spring St. It’s “a summer kickoff for the people who make Aspen what it is,” according to General Manager of W Aspen & The Sky Residences at W Aspen Martin Magdeburg.

Mustache Harbor, May 29

Aspen’s legendary 450-capacity music club Belly Up Aspen (450 S. Galena St.) hosts Mustache Harbor at 9 p.m. May 29. The Northern California-based party band focuses on yacht rock and spot-on tributes, dedicating its sets to music of the 1970s and 1980s. It’s an all-ages show; attendees under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.

Roaring Fork Rising — ‘Wild Flight with Hugh Philips,’ May 30

The Roaring Fork Rising series presents “Wild Flight with Hugh Philips” at 7 p.m. May 30 at The Vault at the Wheeler Opera House, located at 320 E. Hyman Ave. The Colorado-based trio will share its signature blend of roots-rock with jazz and folk elements. The show will be joined by Hugh Philips, who will bring an acoustic, narrative-driven approach to the evening.

An Evening with The Good Kind, May 30

Boulder-based band An Evening with The Good Kind will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. May 30 at Belly Up Aspen, 450 S. Galena St. The popular jam band is known for their energetic live shows delivering a mix of covers, originals and improvisation that inspire a night of dancing. The show is for ages 21 and older. A valid ID is required.

‘DanceAspen Free Community Moves’ local dance class, May 30

DanceAspen is hosting free monthly dance classes on Saturdays. The series kicks off with a community jazz class from 10-11:15 a.m. May 30, led by DanceAspen artist Tyler Kerbel, at the Red Brick Center for the Arts, located at 110 E. Hallam St. Suite 120. Space is limited, so the organizers request cancellations for those who sign up but cannot attend. Ages 14 years and up.

Poetry Reading at the Aspen Chapel, May 30

The Soldner Center for the Arts is hosting a free public poetry reading featuring nationally known poets Heather Swan and James Crews will take place from 7-8 p.m., with a reception to follow, at the Aspen Chapel Gallery, located at 77 Deadwood Drive. The poets will share their poetry exploring the natural world and human connections.

Anderson Ranch closing reception for ‘Common Ground,’ June 2

Anderson Ranch Arts Center will host a closing reception for the “Common Ground” gallery exhibition from 5 to 6 p.m. June 2 in the Patton-Malot Gallery. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit is on view through June 5. The show highlights “the shared creative drive that unites Anderson Ranch staff artists whose diverse practices collectively shape the character of the Ranch community.” The exhibition features work by Betsy Alwin, Austin Caswell, Liz Ferrill, Cricket Fisher, Jack Fox, William Lanzillo, Lane Preston, Andrea Jenkins Wallace and Lindsey Yaeger.

Aspen Isis Theatre screenings, May 29-June 3

Aspen’s Isis Theatre will screen four new release movies: “Pressure,” “Backrooms,” “Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu” and “The Devil Wears Prada 2” from May 29 to June 3. There will be one-time only screenings of “The Met: Live in HD: El Ultimo Sueno de Frida y Diego” at 11 a.m. May 30, and Aspen Film Indie Showcase presents “Omaha” at 7 p.m. June 3. Showtimes include matinees to evening screenings. The venue is located at 406 E. Hopkins Ave.

“Old’s Cool,” a mixed-media show in partnership with Hunter Creek Historical Foundation, will open from 4 to 7 p.m. June 3 at the Aspen Chapel Gallery. The 267th consecutive exhibition since the gallery opened will be curated by Sam Louras. Featured artists will include Art Burrows, Judith Fox-Perry, Doug Graybeal, Gregg Hollomon, Suzanne Jackson, Corina Minniti, Jayne Mosher, Leif Mosher, Steve Mundinger, Glenn Rappaport, Fran Reither, Marty Schlein, Robin Sturgeon and Larry Yal. The artists’ talk, moderated by Andrew Travers, will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. June 10 at the gallery. The Aspen Chapel Gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

MOLLIE Aspen will host live music with singer/songwriter Penelope Thornton from 5-7 p.m. June 4 on its Roof Terrace, 111 S. Garmisch St. The Roaring Fork Valley local draws from folk, country, blues and jazz traditions.
