Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, May 2026 – Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. has announced the appointment of Ashish Gupta as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He succeeds Amit Haria, who is stepping down after a distinguished 19-year tenure with the company.
In his new role, Ashish Gupta will lead the company’s finance, commercial, governance, compliance, and transformation initiatives as Shemaroo continues strengthening its position in India’s rapidly evolving media and entertainment industry.
Before joining Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd. as Chief Financial Officer, Ashish Gupta served as CFO at BARC India, where he reported directly to the CEO and Board while overseeing finance, commercial operations, facilities, company secretarial functions, and vigilance. During his tenure, he played a key role in restructuring teams, simplifying governance frameworks, driving automation initiatives, reducing overall company costs, improving profitability, and significantly optimizing billing cycles and cash reserves.
Prior to BARC India, Ashish Gupta spent over 11 years with International SOS across multiple senior finance leadership positions in India and Asia. He served as Chief Financial Officer India & Regional Projects, Chief Financial Officer – Aspire Lifestyle Asia, Regional Financial Controller – Asia Region & Acting CFO Hong Kong, and CFO India. Across these roles, he led treasury transformation, finance modernization, ERP implementation, business restructuring, profitability improvement, and working capital optimization initiatives across multiple Asian markets.
Earlier in his career, Ashish Gupta held leadership roles with Quatrro, where he headed business planning, financial analysis, due diligence, investor presentations, and fundraising initiatives. He also worked with Copal Partners, Kuoni Travel India, and International SOS Services India, building extensive expertise in treasury management, business finance, MIS, statutory compliance, pricing, audits, financial planning, and corporate governance.
With more than two decades of experience spanning finance transformation, governance, treasury, automation, strategic planning, and business partnering, Ashish Gupta brings strong leadership capabilities to support Shemaroo Entertainment’s next phase of growth and digital expansion.
