Aubrey Plaza shared an inspirational message while discussing her new children’s book on the Today show on Wednesday, October 8.
Luna and the Witch Throw a Halloween Party, which was inspired by and dedicated to her grandmother, who “taught me from a very young age that life is a party,” the White Lotus actress, 41, told host Savannah Guthrie.
“And [that] no matter what happens, we have to have fun and move forward.”
In August, Plaza described her grief over losing her estranged husband, Jeff Baena, who died by suicide in January at age 47, as “a giant ocean of just awfulness,” former costar Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast.
“Sometimes I just want to dive into it and be in it, and… sometimes I try to get away from it, [but] it’s always there.”

As Star previously reported, Plaza and the director, who married in 2021, had separated quietly last fall, but were still in contact. She told police they had texted just hours before Baena was found dead in his L.A. home January 3.
“Slowly but surely, Aubrey is picking up the pieces,” an insider previously told Star. “Everyone feels for her. She’s been to hell and back.”
