As with its prohibition-era Texas rendition of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet” – which premieres next week – Greenville Theatre Works’ next production will be an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Earnest,” but in a style inspired by popular 1970s/1980s TV series “Dallas.”
Greenville Theatre Works will host auditions for “The Importance of Being Earnest” on Sept. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Greenville Municipal Auditorium at 2821 Washington St., with callbacks on Sept. 29 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Descriptions of the characters, along with a link to sample monologues from the script, can be found online at https://tinyurl.com/5c57xyhk.

Show dates for the play will be Nov. 14-16 and Nov. 21-23, and rehearsals will be held for several weeks prior, mostly on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
