Award-winning artist Jon Batiste joins National Museum of African American Music’s Front Row for celebration of latest album

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Award-winning artist Jon Batiste joined the National Museum of African American Music’s Front Row, an intimate artist series that creates “exclusive access to transformational musicians through conversation, performance and cultural immersion.”

Batiste and his latest album, “Big Money,” were featured at the event.

Around 400 people gathered in a circular seating arrangement around Batiste and his co-producer, No I.D., as they joined in a moderated conversation exploring the creative process behind Big Money.

Guests were also treated to spontaneous piano performances, the opening of the “Big Money” exhibit featuring recording artifacts, instruments and wardrobe from the sessions and tour.

Batiste is a seven-time Grammy, Emmy, and Academy Award winner whose work expands across genres like jazz, R&B, soul and American roots.

No I.D. is known for his work with Jay-Z and Kanye West.

“Big Money” recently received three Grammy nominations for Best American Roots Performance, Best American Roots Song and Best Americana Album.

According to NMAAM, if Batiste wins a Grammy at the upcoming 2026 ceremony, it would mark his eighth Grammy win and would place him among legends like Quincy Jones.
