On Saturday evening, the British royals attended the Royal British Legion’s annual Festival of Remembrance in London. For the occasion, the ladies of the family wore diamonds and pearls with military badges and poppies.
Queen Camilla arrived for the annual festival wearing a black dress with sequin accents, paired with diamond Magic Alhambra earrings from her extensive collection of Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry. She also wore a blue agate Alhambra bracelet with the stack on her right wrist and a diamond tennis bracelet on her left.
When she removed her cape-style jacket, Camilla also revealed a crystal poppy brooch pinned to her dress. Along with traditional paper poppies, the Royal British Legion also now sells an extensive range of poppy brooches.
With the Prince of Wales wrapping up his recent trip to Brazil, Princess Catherine brought along a different companion to this year’s festival: the couple’s elder son, Prince George of Wales.
Kate wore the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Bahrain Pearl Drop Earrings and a diamond cross necklace with her ensemble for the festival. Beside her poppy, she pinned a military brooch that she recently received in Scotland.
Catherine, who is known as the Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, received this silver brooch when she became the sponsor of HMS Glasgow in May. The brooch, made by James Porter & Son, has a design based on the traditional HMS Glasgow badge.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh were also in attendance at the festival. Sophie wore diamond earrings and a coordinating necklace from Chopard, plus a crystal poppy pin and the badge of the Royal Corps of Army Music. (She’s their Colonel-in-Chief.)
The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester were part of the royal party at this year’s festival as well. Birgitte wore a favorite pair of diamond and pearl drop earrings and a single strand of pearls. With her trio of poppies, she wore one of her rock crystal and diamond circle brooches, plus the badge of the Adjutant General’s Corps, for whom she serves as Colonel-in-Chief.
