The Great British Bake Off has confirmed the judge for the show’s upcoming Stand Up To Cancer series
Fans of Bake Off have said they are thrilled that pastry chef Cherish Finden will be joining as a judge for the forthcoming Stand Up To Cancer series.
Cherish, known for her role on Bake Off: The Professionals, will be teaming up with Paul Hollywood in the tent when the Channel 4 series returns later this year.
This follows Prue Leith’s departure from the main show after nine series, with Nigella Lawson stepping in to fill her shoes.
The news was unveiled on Instagram, accompanied by a photo of Cherish alongside Paul and Bake Off hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.
“Cherish will be joining us in the Tent for The Great Stand Up To Cancer Bake Off!” the post read.
The star expressed her excitement about “delighted to be joining Paul in judging Celebrity Bake Off for SU2C”, reports Gloucestershire Live.

“While I certainly haven’t left my ruler at home, judging these wonderful celebrities is about more than just precision, it’s about spreading joy and supporting a meaningful cause,” she further commented.
Fans took to social media to share their thoughts, with one describing it as “great news”. “Love love love Cherish,” another fan wrote. “So happy about this and for such a good cause.”
“Wow! Curious to see the dynamic with Paul, Alison and Noel!” another fan exclaimed.
“Love it! Love it! Love it! Bring on Cherish,” another chimed in. “My favourite judge to join the team,” said another fan.
The series will welcome a variety of celebrities into the tent, all eager to impress the judges with their Signature, Technical and Showstopper bakes. Among them are former Celebrity Big Brother housemate JoJo Siwa, Love Island’s Molly-Mae Hague, ex-Strictly contestant Vicky Pattison and actor Emmett J Scanlan. Broadcaster Edith Bowman, actor Ralf Little and comedian Joe Wilkinson will also be taking part.
Prue took a step back from The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer in 2025, and then this year she announced her departure from the show entirely.
She shared on Instagram: “After nine series and judging more than 400 challenges, I have decided to step down as a judge on The Great British Bake Off.”
Sharing a photo alongside fellow judge Paul, she informed her followers: “Bake Off has been a fabulous part of my life for the last nine years, I have genuinely loved it and I’m sure I’ll miss working with my fellow judge Paul, Alison and Noel and the teams at Love Productions and Channel 4. But now feels like the right time to step back (I’m 86 for goodness sake! ), there’s so much I’d like to do, not least spend summers enjoying my garden.”
