Birds of a Feather explores how bird plumage changes with age, season and breeding status and what that reveals about survival and adaptation. High Horse with Joy Adams & Gus Tritsch concert: 8 p.m. Wednesday, Chautauqua Community House, 301 Morning Glory Drive, Boulder. High Horse High Horse is a Boston/Lyons-based progressive-acoustic stringband breathing the energy of alternative rock into an indelible blend of bluegrass, old-time and folk magic with crisp vocals and virtuosic chops. Four friends with three bows, one pick and great vibes deliver a rollicking romp as the band High Horse. Perhaps better known as a founding member of Big Richard and Salomé Songbird, Joy Adams is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter with a deep love for old-time fiddle tunes.
