Not forgotten
The West Baton Rouge Museum, 845 N. Jefferson Ave., Port Allen, will open the exhibit, “Gone But Not Forgotten: Black Cemeteries of West Baton Rouge” on Jan. 10.
The exhibit examines the historic lost burial grounds of enslaved Black people across the parish, as well as those cemeteries that are in danger of becoming lost to Mother Nature or land development. Many of these were started by Black churches or Benevolent Societies in the latter part of the 19th century.

Surreal Salon
Baton Rouge Gallery, 1515 Dalrymple Drive, will open “Surreal Salon 18,” its annual internationally juried exhibit of pop-surrealism and lowbrow art, on Jan. 4.
The show will run through Jan. 25 with its coinciding Surreal Salon Soiree celebration set for Jan. 24. Admission to the exhibit is free, and advance tickets for the soiree are $40 for gallery members and $50 for nonmembers. All tickets are $60 at the door.

The museumwide exhibit, “Coca-Cola Christmas: A Month of Magic at LASM,” has returned for a second year at the Louisiana Art & Science Museum, 100 S. River Road. The show runs through Jan. 4.

The show features a focused selection of Bruner’s collages, portraits and abstractions shaped by memory, loss and resilience.
