Celebrity MasterChef returns later this year for its 21st series.
The new contestants, who will compete in the long-running BBC One cooking competition, include TV personalities, an Olympic star, and a comedian.
These are the five contestants taking part in the first show of the series:
Jay McGuinness
Jay McGuinness, musician and Strictly Come Dancing winner, will be the first to enter the kitchen in week one.
Mr McGuinness, known as a member of the boyband The Wanted, hopes to follow in his band members, Tom and Max’ footsteps by appearing on the show.
He describes himself as a vegetarian who loves to cook with spice, though he admits his plate presentation may not be up to MasterChef standards.
Joe Pasquale
Next in the line-up is comedian and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! series four winner Joe Pasquale.
Pasquale hopes to gain new kitchen confidence through the competition.
Shakira Khan
Also taking part is Love Island star Shakira Khan, who describes herself as a “simple cook” but is eager to learn and step out of her comfort zone.
The 23-year-old is keen to master new recipes and eventually become her family’s go-to chef.
Jason Mohammad
TV and radio presenter Jason Mohammad joins the cast as a self-described “Christmas Day chef” who cooks most nights for his family.
He fondly remembers picking vegetables in his grandfather’s garden in Wales.
Emily Campbell
Completing the line-up is Olympic weightlifter Emily Campbell.
She describes herself as confident in the kitchen and is eager to expand her culinary knowledge.
The line-up for the second heat of the series has also been revealed, and will include:
- Donna Preston, Actress and Comedian
- Emily Steel, TV Gladiator Dynamite
- Eric Underwood, Presenter and former Royal Ballet Dancer
- Nitin Ganatra, Actor
- Tom Simons aka TommyInnit, YouTuber and Stand-up comedian
Celebrity MasterChef will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer later this year.
