Beck has announced his first studio album in seven years, Ride Lonesome, which will be released on September 18.
The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter shared the news on Instagram, revealing that the album reunites him with several longtime collaborators.
Slated ot be released through Capitol Records, the project features musicians who worked with him on albums including Sea Change, Morning Phase and Mutations.
Beck said the album was recorded at his favorite studio, Room B at United Studios in Hollywood. He also returned to work with producer and mixer Nigel Godrich, who collaborated on some of his earlier records.
Reflecting on the reunion after years apart, Beck said in the caption, “This time it felt like the playing and the chemistry had evolved and deepened— a sound that’s come together over the decades of working together.”
He added, “While we were revisiting a musical and physical place, it also felt like we were finding new sounds and emotional textures along the way.”
The announcement follows the release of the album’s title track in April.
To support the new record, Beck will launch the Ride Lonesome tour on Sept. 16 in Vancouver.
The North American trek will include stops in cities such as Portland, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, Atlanta and Nashville.
Ride Lonesome will feature 12 tracks, including Ride Lonesome, Run Away, In the Night, Disappearing Act, Slow Canyon, Falling Through My Hands, and Beyond the Light. The album marks Beck’s first full-length studio release since 2019.
