Benson Boone cancels UK show hour before, says he ‘tried everything’ to perform

Benson Boone was forced to cancel a concert at the last minute because of a health issue.

Boone, 23, canceled his Nov. 1 show in Birmingham, England roughly an hour before it was supposed to start, the BBC reported.

The “Beautiful Things” singer said in his Instagram story that he had “tried everything” to revive his voice, but would be unable to perform due to the “condition of my throat.”

“I am so sorry but I will not be able to perform tonight,” he wrote, according to PEOPLE. “I have tried everything I can to revive my voice, but I cannot give you the show I’d like to be able to give you with the condition of my throat right now.”

Boone continued, “This is genuinely the crappiest feeling, I am so sorry. I promise you I will do everything in my power to make it up to you. I’ll update you guys as soon as I can. Thank you for everything you do. I love you guys so much.”

Boone’s next show is scheduled for Monday night, Nov. 3, at The O2 arena in London. The “Mystical Magical” singer is currently on his American Heart Tour in support of his second studio album that was released this past June. The Grammy nominee has several more shows left in Europe as well.

Boone will also perform at the Kennedy Space Center’s Rocket Garden for a one-night-only event on Nov. 29. The concert will also be live-streamed on TikTok to fans around the world.

“Visa and NASA have truly gone above and beyond bringing this show together,” Boone said in a press release for that performance, per PEOPLE. “This show is going to be so insanely sick and one I’ll remember forever. I hope everyone likes my outfit as much as I do.”
